had bad accident yesterday in work , went to hospital etc, now going to be off i think at least few weeks or more, problem is i just started job in dublin 4 weeks ago, so im still on probationary period.

boss also called me yesterday whilst i was in A&E and asked me to call back into work after i finished with hospital xrays etc to make a statement of accident , i blew a gasket and we had an argument , i told him where to go.

now workmates are feeding me all kinds of stories , the company will get rid of me etc. its a bif multi national company , what is the likely outcome to all this.

i told boss im claiming against the client not " him or my company "

The first thing you need to do is to go back to your boss and apologise for your behaviour - put it down to stress and pain, and ask him to let it go.

Then, ask him about the company policy with regard to sick leave for probationers, and accept what he says.

Stress that you are very keen to return to work a.s.a.p. and will be off for as little time as possible, and that you hope the company will be able to keep your position open for you.
Why did you blow a gasket at your boss?
Hi, they can get rid of you if they want to, regardless of the accident. Probbly blowing a gasket and arguing with the boss won't help
You had a go at your boss after just starting?

I'm assuming employment law is similar to the UK meaning they can get rid of you without reason in the first 2 years (I think) and tbh I'd get rid of a new employee if they blew a gasket at me so soon.
Pretty standard practice to report accidents. What made you so angry?
Just spoke to my daughter and she says although she's not sure if it's 1 or 2 years the same law applies.
Your boss was behaving as a responsible employer and you had a hissy-fit at him.
If he wasn't minded to let you go for the time you'll be off 'sick', he may well be disposed to do so because of your attitude.
Swallow you pride, bite your tongue and apologise and do all he asks and you just might keep your job.
Blowing a gasket to new boss , doesn't give you much credibility as as new employee ?
How serious are you're injuries, are you still in hospital ?

hold on !!!!

i was in a private clinic getting xrayed, hips. arm and legs it was bad accident, boss expected me to come back to work and give him a statement

WISE UP !!!
Started a job 4 weeks ago and ''i told him where to go. '' ?

I don't hold out much hope of you keeping your job , mate
Still got temper problems, I see.....

Eating humble-pie may save your job; I can't see it otherwise.
so instead of saying "sorry but i cant come back, i'm too unwell" you went off on one

forgot to mention, boss was very aggressive in his attitude to me once accident happened and when safetyn officers were out of site he sternly said to me " listen here, you know there is a chain of command in this company, you were well aware that if you have an accident that you report it straight to me first " he expected me to go to his office after an accident ? that was his manner toward someone who had a bad accident ? i went straight to sick bay omn stretcher, so he was in the wrong !!!

stuff him and his company, he is just trying to save his own skin , i dont know why he said that to me. surely the accident was not my companies fault and i have emailed the company to tell them this last night.

just now 5 mins ago company managment have called me asking me to come in the morning that they want to make me an " offer " told them im still in pain and cant make it, asked him to email me the " offer " now left wondering what the offer will be, as i say it was not my companies fault
' making an offer ' doesn't sound as if they want you to stay - hopefully i'm wrong
You might like to remember that any future employer will be asking this boss for a reference for you - 'Prone to temper tantrums' is not something you want written on it!
You have no luck at all. How are you feeling today? Anything broken?
I don't know if it's the same in Ireland but in UK any accident at work that requires you to be off for more than 3 days (I think) is notifiable to the Health and Safety Executive and they will do the investigation and decide who if anyone is at fault irrelevant of what you or your boss says. No company wants that. I expect that is why your boss is concerned, he needs to follow policy. Perhaps if you'd explained you weren't well enough to come in but were willing to discuss over the phone this might not have blown up because of your rant.
It is the same, Prudie - must be reported to the Health and Safety Authority
As as been suggested , apologise and explain that you rant was not typical of your nature and was due to the stress of the accident and it wont happen again
