Is he a snooker player?
I get about 30 a day in my spam box from names I don't know and I don't look closely at them so this one doesn't ring a bell. Was it unusual compared to all the standard spam/scams/phishing?
Do you mean from the restaurant in Covent Garden?
is he a nigerian philanthropist with lots of money to give away?

No, this one is totally different from the usual Nigerian phishing e-mail with appalling English. This chap claims to be serving in Kabul, Afghanistan. The e-mail address that he communicates from is slightly different from the one given in the text to reply to.

Don't worry! I have deleted it.

ummmmm....nooooo..will have to bring old sofa back in now...humpn !! ;-0
I got one recently purporting to be from a FedEx-type company in Benin (I had to look up where that was). They said they had a credit card with $9.5 million dollars credit on it waiting for me.... They wanted me to contact them to arrange delivery to England. Probably required a hefty delivery or insurance fee payment in advance. They even re-emailed me when I didn't reply. Needless to say I deleted the messages. I've lost count of the emails/texts relating to car crashes I'm supposedly entitled to money for and I don't even drive.
