What happened? I see it's gone
Oh all of a sudden he's banned.
Didn't I read on that thread - or one of the OP's others on maths - that the OP was posting the same questions on other sites too?

Yes, that happens quite a lot. Maybe it was deemed to be spam. It would be better if we could get some advance notice though that a long standing thread is going to be pulled so we can avoid crafting a long reply, but I realise this can be impractical with mods understandably wanting to remain anonymous
put it here FF
I was quite taken with the proportion question,
as it seemed in a different order to the usual ones of multiply out (p+q)^2 and show all the steps !

It seemed a good example of someone doing far more NOT to exert himself than just getting down to the problems

I quite enjoyed them. It's been a good 30 years since i was doing those myself, so made me trawl my memory a bit!
I've noticed (because I often join in) that Maths questions on here draw in a regular band of posters who want to do it first, do it best, explain it better and general oneupmanship (all in the nicest way).
Perhaps Ed could set a question of the week to satisfy this group, indeed factor why don't you do it?
I don't think that would give the same, "I'm able to help", type satisfaction. I'm unsurprised action was taken against the individual with the multiple question syndrome, but it is a pity the responses already given couldn't stay in case they were of interest to others. Ah well ...
