I want to quit my job!

I have been working at this store for 14 hours a week for 12 weeks, I really dont like it there anymore in general.

- I am going to a family wedding on Saturday and they wont let me have the day off.

- There asking for references and told me they will sack me if I dont get them to them within 3 weeks (I am now one week in to the three weeks)

- They put me down for shifts without asking, thus being my fault if I cant do them.

I am a university student who has been given the chance to work for a massive IT company in Manchester starting in 4 weeks.

I want to just never go in again...

Its the only way I see an out, I shall write a letter & post it to them, giving them a conclusion to my employment.

Is there anything they could do?

I dont need a reference from them, I will never put it down on an application form as the massive IT company should get me where I need to go.

Any help appreciated.

They could sue you for breach of contract - it's unlikely they will but there is that risk.
I think you should just hand in your notice (a week?) and keep going in until your finish date- you may need a reference from them one day.
As an aside, I don't think they have been unreasonable regarding giving you 3 weeks to provide your references, and they are under no obligation to give you a day off for a wedding so soon after starting- maybe you should have mentioned it as a condition for accepting the job
