Why is it that companies require CRB check even though a person has already got one ?

CRB checks at the present are only valid for use in reference with the organisation which requested it, not for the individual being checked on.

It also ensures the info is more up to date.
The system needs an overhaul though to make them more transferrable- I once had six separate ones in a 12 month period

Buy insisting on a new CRB the company will know that it is up to date.

Because it is a money making scam.
I currently hold 5 separate CRB checks - I have held more.
It would be so much easier (and cheaper) to have a passport style CRB that could be updated yearly

cos its a rip off, each time you change jobs/positions you need a new check as it does not cover you like a driving licence or that sort of thing.
and of course it costs each time, isnt our system great?

yes baza you are right its a rip off you need one every tmie you change a particular type of job even if you have only had a crb for a week then you need a new one, also rip off is updating your phoot on a driving licence £20 it is now and its every 10 years so thats a bit better but still a goverment money making scheme
