Why do employers interview people for a job and then tell them at a later date they weren't succesful due to experience. They can see teh amount of experience the applicant has from the cv/application form so if the lack of experience is an issue then why invite them to an interview.

i know what you mean DC_FC. its so fraustrating! i graduated in 2006 and still tempting. ive had over 100's of job interviews, 90% were unsuccessful due to lack of experience, and the rest was over qualified for the role... i give up.
I once went on an interview and was told that I’m over qualified for the job. At the end of the interview the interviewer said I had no experience (which was true). At that point I realised I'd not gotten the job so I said to the Panel of interviewers "it's people like you who keep refusing to give me a chance to prove myself and gain experience" there was a bit of silence then the head person said they’ll get back to me to let me know of their decision. Next day they called and offered me the job. I stayed with the company for ten years.
wow nice one society! i couldnt do that! i have also been told that im not assertive enough ......
