I was wondering if anyone could tell me how i could work out what tax and NI i would pay each month.

Thanks, i did find that site but i didnt use it correctly to get what i was after
if you are in the "normal" tax bracket, as a ready reckoner, use 30% of gross earnings
I think that can be misleading though, bednobs, as it ignores the personal allowance and NI starting points. For someone on say £12000 a year the average rate is likely to be less than 20%.
The tax calculator will give you figures over ayear but if you are starting work now and want to know your net pay over the next few months you will also have to take account of tax and earnings in the year to date
