I have really, really bad handwriting. Please does anyone know any good tips, websites or books available for me please.

It usually depends on what pen you use aswell.

Also you can get lined paper where each line is really close to the next, so you can do letters such as aceimnorsuvwx and z within a whole space, with the other letters poking out, above or below the line depending on which letter they are.

I find the problem is that although I used to write all the time in the past, we are now all so used to computers that handwriting is for some, becoming a lost art.

Buenchico: Yes I have seen the website and have been practicing the techniques.
Mollykins: Great idea I will use the narrow lined paper, cheers.

I know I have got into some bad habits with my writing, I just need to practice!!!!

you can't beat writing with a fountain pen.. it makes you want to write just a little bit better!

Molly is right about the pen. You need to find one that has a barrel size and shape that suits your hand size and the method you use to grip the pen. You won't write well if you are not comfortable holding the pen.

Sara - re. fountain pen - I'm absolute rubbish with them! Can't beat a biro or a gel pen. I seem to press too hard and dig the nib into the paper, sort of ploughing it up as I go along....

There is a splendid book that you may wish to buy, or borrow from your local library:

It contains lots of advice on pens, paper and various handwriting styles. Try it, eh ?
