I have an Onkeo DV-SP406 DVD player and i have lost the remote control for it. I have tried the dealer I bought it from and Onkyo itslef and had no luck in sourcing a replacement.
I have seen in some shops these 'universal' remote controls - I've never bought one and i am wondering if they actually do the job that they claim. Has anyone ever bought one and is there any way of finding out if they would work on my machine beforehand. I don't really want to buy yet another remote control to add to the huge collection i already have, particularly if it is no good.

Thanks in advance

Plenty in the £1 Shops to try,not much to lose.
If you're anywhere near Bedfordshire her's a bargain for you:

The Onkyo remote for this dvd player has it's own model number - RC-725DV . Google this and you will find plenty of worldwide sources to buy a replacement from. (from as little as $18 plus shipping)

Thank you all
Nae bother. :)
Hey, You might want to try looking for the remote on a site that sells the original such as http://www.remotecontrolhookup.com/onkyo/. It's a more expensive option, but they might have what you're looking for.
