Hi,

I am using WindowsXP, When I am closing down my computer I keep getting SysFader ending programme, I usually have to close this as it fails to end and I have to end it manually before my computer will switch off. I have searched my Computer for this SysFader programme but I cannot find it, any help out there please.

My suggestion would be to run "msconfig" and uncheck all the boxes in start up that you don't recognize. If you're really lucky "Sysfader" might be there but if it's not go for any you don't recognize as a program you're running and uncheck the box...hope this is of some help
Try this..........in Win XP (other OS will be similar)
Right click the desktop and choose properties/appearance/effects and uncheck the box for "Use the following transition effects for menus and tool tips........

BTW do you use NVidia graphics as it seems to be connected to that particular system...commoner.

Thanks to both of you for your answers, I have tried the second answer as I do have nvidia graphics, as I do not get the SysFader come up everytime I switch off my computer I will give it a week and let you know if it worked

Thanks.

Ok Toureman...you do have the main suspect then , NVidia?

Here's something else to try if that proves not to help. It is similar but directly involves NVidia...

Go to START > CONTROL PANEL > DISPLAY > NVIDIA NVIEW DESKTOP MANAGER > tab DESKTOP MANAGEMENT > PROPERTIES > tab APPEARANCE > EFFECTS and uncheck the FADE EFFECT option.
