And did you pay cash?

No 1 - check your bank statement/credit card statement to see who the payments are/were made to
No 2 - pay for a search here >http://www.askmid.com/askmid.aspx |

A drastic option is to get stopped by the police and they will do a check on your insurer.
Assuming you paid for the policy (either instalments or up front) you will be able to find out who you are paying. Did you buy on line? From a broker? From a TV ad/ You must be able to narrow it down. Who were you insured with last year . They may know. |

The only trouble with being stopped by the police is that IF there is some problem with the policy oilrig is a bit stuffed on a DWI charge. Personally I'd pay the MIB the four quid (if it wasn't on my bank statements) and find out that way.

Sorry Barmaid, I wasn't being serious about deliberately getting stopped by the police!
I am puzzled as to why this query crops up from time to time on AB- insurance is a big cost and I can't imagine forgetting how I bought it and having no payment record. If you buy it on line you get emails. If you pay for it you have a bank satement or credit card payment record. |
