It doesn't work like that.

Insurance companies have different sorts of customers they like to cover.

Some like high risk-high premium customers, others like low risk- low premiums. If you put yourself outside of their comfort zone you'll suddenly find you get quoted a silly premium to encourage you to take your business elsewhere.

It's just business - you seem to be taking it as a personal insult

No, I am not taking this as a personal insult only a person that has never cost them a penny for the thousands I have given them over the years, I take your point, But i know who I would prefer to insure,

Yes, and you'll find plenty of companies out there more than willing to take you on as a good risk - at less money.
Its a competitive world out there for insurance and it's best to just shop around briefly every year - as a matter of course.

Fair enough, it's just the title of your question seemed to suggest that you felt somewhat aggrieved!

You might prefer to avoid insuring yound inexperienced 18 year old boys but those who do know their business and like being able to charge thousands of pounds as premiums

It's just a matter of your personal attitute towards risk and reward.

And we were all high risk drivers once so it's just as well there are insurance companies who like them

Insurance companies (or hardly anyone these days) don't reward loyalty. I got an astronomical renewal quote from Prudential. I rang them because I'd got a quote £400 cheaper elsewhere. They just said there was noting they could do, they didn't even make an effort. Clearly they weren't interested in insuring me, I wish they'd just say so instead of wasting my time !
