I am thinking of taking my laptop away on holiday on Sunday and want to get travel insurance to cover any problems i might have with it getting damaged in transit etc
however i don't have a receipt for the laptop. Can anyone recommend a policy where i will still be covered?

normal travel insurance should cover, laptops, cameras, etc.and by the way they will know how much it cost you,as they have lists and lists of prices of everything.

Make a written note of the make, model and serial number of the laptop and keep it safe at home.
Take photos of the laptop - on / off; open / closed, front and back etc. Take very good photos of the labels on the bottom of the laptop.
This should be sufficient to support your claim.

I've used www.laptopinsurance.org.uk before for insuring my laptop to take abroad on business. I think you may need a recept though with whoever you go with though.
