Hi, Im looking to move in the next month or 2 & have fell for a house that is ideal, except..............
It was underpinned 14 years ago!
I have looked at the certificates etc & have seen that the main cause was a burst pipe & everything has now been solved with no movement since!

however
a lot of insurance companies wont insure or want to charge us double or triple for the privilege!

I've tried Norwich Union who are currently insuring the house but they say their terms have changed in the past year & they are no longer insuring underpinned houses!

Can anyone tell me if they now of a insurer who will cover a UP houses without bumping up their prices stupidly?
thanks

try norwich and peterborough.

I have a flat in an old building which collapsed on one side about 7 years ago due to drain damage. i bought the flat after the work to rebuild and stabilise it had been done.

The whole building was insured and landlord was charging a fortune but i got a much cheaper quote from N&P.

Its got to be worth a call
