My wife and I have split up and I have the 2 Dogs which I do all the feeding, walking etc however she still pays their insurance. I want to go away for a week and take the dogs with me however she is threatening all sorts of legal stuff.....I need to know does she have any legal right to stop me taking them away for a week.

who owns them?
I take it they live with you?
if they do just take out new insurance.
Is there an option to leave them with her while you are away?
What are her objections? A dog is not subject to any custody order, she is being unreasonable if she is trying to stop you from having a holiday.

Jointly owned.....Yes dogs live with me......No she lives in a flat now.....Her objection is me having a holiday and taking dogs....
There is nothing she can do to stop you either having a holiday or taking the dogs with you.
Ignore her and take the dogs away with you.

If she cancels the insurance, insure them yourself.
Just go. What can she do once you've left?

Dogs are not children (where custody arrangements might apply). If they are jointly owned by you and they live with you simply take them with you wherever you go. Is your wife suggesting that, since she cannot have the dogs and she does not want you to take them away with you, that you cannot go? Ridiculous!
Agree with NJ, just go.
