Do you insure your mobile? I have an iphone and took out the insurance in store when I bought it, but wonder if its really necessary. If so should I renew or shop around this time?

I don't insure my iPhone.
Mine is provided by my workplace, but even when I had my own I'd never thought of insuring it.
mine has never been insured separately. I have got it insured with my car insurance which covers my handbag and its contents and with my home insurance as part of home contents.
Both my son and I have ours insured. He has had two screens replaced and if I remember correctly even a
replacement phone. I have never had to
Claim. But
You know what happens, the day we stop something will happen. It depends on how you treat it I suppose.
Since my phone cost £9 from Tesco then I think the premiums, however low, would be too much.
I have never insured my phones. I do use a very protective case and I've had one phone stop working after 20 months and another after 14 months. Both times Amazon refunded me in full within days.
I suppose I could claim on my house insurance if it was lost or stolen but I wouldn't bother - my excess is too high and I don't want the premiums to increase because of a claim.

Mine cost next to nothing when I took out the contract but I insured it, concerned that if I lose or break it, I'd be duty bound to honour the rest of the contract. Also anxious that anyone finding it could potentially run up an enormous bill.

I'm pretty careful with it but still undecided.
