Every year when I have my central heating boiler serviced I am given a filled in sheet entitled Homeowner gas safety record. My parents have had their boiler serviced today and all they got was a handwritten receipt of payment for a boiler service. Is this right?
Thanks in advance

do they use the same people as you do?
If you hire someone to service your boiler and they hand you a receipt then I would have thought that covered it. Larger companies may have better paperwork if the customer finds that useful. But I'd have thought the implication was that the tradesman/woman has done the job they state they have.

they were 2 different companies but both were local plumbers who work alone not big companies
It's not actually a legal requirement for him to give any documentation. Some do, some don't.

It's something that's agreed with the guy beforehand. I wouldn't have thought that any Gas-Safe boilerguy would refuse to. The trouble is, some might argue that they would have to charge extra for admin.
