Car Insurance Renewal

I have just done a quote for my car insurance and it looks like it is going to be around £60 dearer than last year. Has anyone got a good deal recently?

You need to get as many quotes as you can. Money Saving Expert.com recommends to get quotes in the following order:

Go Compare
Money Supermarket
Direct Line
Aviva
Admiral

I personally got a good deal from Swift Cover, but that doesn't mean it would suit you!

I'm in the same position having just had my renewal quote come through from my current insurer. I'm going to look around the comparison sites and then get back to my current insurer to see if they'll match the quote. Insurers always seem to hike up the price when they requote, presumably in the hope you'll just carry on with them because it's too much bother not to. But I save money wherever I can these days. Don't forget that a lot of insurers don't subscribe to the comparison sites so you'll get a better deal if you go to them direct (e.g. DirectLine). We always shop around each year - this year I stayed the same in terms of premium, but had my excess reduced by a third.
