Pensions, IFAs

I want to buy an annuity with a pension lump maturing in a few months. I want an 'impaired life' annuity.

Do I have to go through an IFA, and if so, how much will the IFA take as a fee? If it varies, what sort of percentage is normal?

Is there an alternative - if I drop the impaired life aspect, can I go without the IFA?

Ta.

Hi Allen, No you don't have to buy an impaired life annuity through an IFA. You have a number of options available to you.

As you said you can go through an IFA - to find one you can use www.unbiased.com or contact annuity providers directly for a quote or a third option is to go through an annuity specialist.

An Annuity specialist will compare the whole market for you depending on your requirements - there is no fee for this. At TheRetirementCentre.com we can get you a quick quote personalised for your circumstances to do this visit
I hope this helps - We look forward to hearing from you.
Give this website a try – it will allow you to see typical annuity rates for your personal circumstances.
