assuming this is central heating, I'd say start with bleeding your radiators!

sounds like the radiators need bleeding. I only came on this thread because I thought it was about Cheating (like on your partner!)

the rads are hot and the bleed knobs are stuck with paint

Jaydah. If your central heating system is in distress it is best to get a professional in. we have a contract with british gas and I would love to call them out but it seems to always work. they come once a year to service the central heating system.

is it that difficult to break the seal of the paint?

sounds like an airlock, you need to get at the valves to bleed out the air.

I too thought that Cheating had given you a stomach ache!

Paint shouldn`t stop a rad key opening the bleed valves

We had that kind of noise once. Had to get a plumber eventually. Something to do with either corrosion or sludge build up in the pipes. He drained down the system then put in an additive and all was well. Cannot remember if it was expensive or not...couldn't have been too bad or I would have remembered.
Turn the system off, let it cool down then try to bleed the radiators for a start.
If no joy, get a man in.

will look for key & hit it wiv a hammer or ------turn up the tv and have a go 2moro in case it leaks.

its strange as the noise is behind the armchair and there aren't any pipes or rads there,must be a ghost with wind

when I listened near the p;ipes the sound came from themm but now its behind the armchair. It's very odd. The pipes are hot so cant listen too closely
