Canon Digital camera EOS 450

We have just bought the above camera and can't seem to find the answer to our question in the book. Which switch allows you to view what you are taking on the screen. We are getting a white screen with info on it ???

That's not how an SLR works - you have to look through the viewfinder, which gives you the exact image through the lens. The Canon EOS is not unique in that respect - that's the way they all work.
You've bought a PROPER camera, you know.
Look at page 96 of the manual

OK, it's a fair cop. Mine's a 400D and doesn't do that - unless anyone can tell me to the contrary?

Thanks buildersmate for your cheery response. However it is possible as we had it, pressed goodness knows what and lost it again !!! We agree that we've bought a "proper" camera !!!
