Tree sap removal

How do you remove sticky pine sap, picked up from some cut logs, from hands and clothing. Soap has little effect Bonzo 2000 (Fri 13:57 29/Oct/04)

RATTER15		(Sun 11:14 31/Oct/04) I used to be a tree surgeon and I always got the sap off with Faiy Liquid, and it came out of my clothing with a normal hot wash in washing machine.
