I have a arial which splits into 2 - one bit goes to the kitchen and one bit to the dining room.

As we approach digital day I am wondering how I can convert to digital without having to get 2 new TVs. If i buy a digi box, is it possible to split the out put into 2?
There is no need to record items, they can be done on the main TV which I have already changed over to digital.

Any digital TV experts out there?

Thanks

Just hook up a digibox to each bit of the aerial - the signal should be strong enough and the digiboxes are cheap.

If you split one digibox into two TVs you would have to watch the same channel at the same time on boh TVs.

The good news is you do not need to buy a new tv, ; however some adjustments to your existing setup are needed.

I would firstly boost the signal, with a distribution amp, as when you split you effectively halve the strength.
with traditional analogue you could get a watchable pic in these circumstances, but the digital signal is weaker so this is probably no longer sufficient, as it is 'all or nothing' - you either get a clear pic or nowt!

you would then need a small digital set top box for each tv...you can get them for as little as 15 quid, but still...
welcome to the world of digital con! which sadly means having to complicate things and splash out on such things.
if your not watching both at the same time ..meaning you watching one and the kids watching the other then its simple just by a send and reciever box , attach to one and leave on standby allowing you to watch the other..
