I have literally hundreds of 35 mm colour negative strips which I want to digitise and put on CD and on my PC. Does anybody know of a good but cheap piece of kit to do this?

I have an Epson perfection 3490 Photo Scanner on which I did mine. This has an attachment that fits inside the lid and scans about 4 at a time.

I spotted this USB Summit Photofix Scanner advertised in the paper for 99.95 inc free delivery. Takes less than a second to scan a slide or a negative.

If you have hundreds, it might be worth your while sending them to a company and getting them to do it - even if it's a bit more expensive than buying a scanner, think of the time you'll have saved yourself!

I've had a quote from a company and the cost is what prompts me to do it myself!
I have a "Trust " scanner that came with an attachment for slides and negatives.. The difference between a normal scanner and a negative scanner is that there is a background light in the lid on a negative scanner . My one was about 60 from a computer fair .
