Car radio - code

I have recently bought a second hand Ford Fiesta and didn't use it for a while. Consequently the car battery ran out. I have recharged the battery and connected it back and am now using the car. the only thing is that by disconnecting the battry the car radio doesn't work now. I understand that it may have locked the code. I don't know how to get it working again although I have got the car radio code. All I get on the radio 'screen' is a blank green light and nothing else. Even fiddling with the switches doesn't do anything at all. Any ideas as how to make it work again.

Unfortunately you will have to go to your local Ford dealer and pay about 10 for them to reset the code. They will then give you the code for future use

Good luck raguvun
Try posting this question in motoring.

You may get a diy solution.
Not sure of the exact procedure so I don't guarantee this but say the code is 2468

You press the first station button twice, the second four times, the third 6 times and so on. You may have to press the fifth one once to enter the code - maybe not.

If you get it wrong it locks the radio for progressively greater lengths of time before you can try again

A Ford dealer should be able to guide you - as they don't have to retrieve the code for you from Ford's computer they probably won't charge you.

should realy search for similar questions. plenty of people here will give you the code for free, all you have to do is tell us the serial number on the radio it will read M###### that is m followed by six numbers. then the code can be calculated. this is providing it is a ford radio. dzug, on the right lines, there are actually ten chances, a friendly ford tech can get three more. the major thing is is the radio worth it? a replacement can be bought fairly cheaply.
in addition, if no display it means the ignition live feed has failed. this is the power to the radio when you turn on the ignition. the radio may in fact be deceased..
try this guy he has given out loads of free codes, you just need the serial number of you radio. http://www.usedcarmart.co.uk/forum/showthread. php?t=6260
Is no-one reading the question?

OP KNOWS THE CODE - he doesn't need to find it out or be told what it is.

He wants to know how to enter it into the radio. I have said roughly how to do it but I can't remember the finer details.
Having worked in various Ford dealers in the past, I can confirm that dzug is indeed correct in their instructions of how to key-in a radio code.

If this hasn't worked, try starting all over again.

Disconnect the power, then re-connect and leave the ignition key in the second position, radio on.

After some time, you should see 4 'dashes' on display.
Key in code as per dzug instructions, pressing 5 key to 'enter'.

If this doesn't work, then chuck it (radio not car), it's knackered.
