Recently I have had to turn up the sound control on my tv to 60 or over (LG tv, 7 years old), to hear what is being said. And no it's not my hearing. When I watch programmes on my iPlayer the volume control is about level 3.
Anything that can be done about this?
(It's not a smart tv.)

I.m a bit confused by your reference to iPlayer.

Do you watch iPlayer on your TV, and if so what device are you using to show it?

When watching normal TV, do you use the TV's own tuner, or do yu have Sky or another type of box connected?
I have an LG and I find the sound is a bit rubbish. We have to jump form 20 to 30 to hear any difference.

IPlayer. Hopkirk. No, I watch it in bed etc. Not connected to anything.
Ummm that's good to know.
Have you tried powering down at the wall plug, then starting it up again?

Always worth trying.
If no joy, then you have three options.

1 Replace the telly.

2 Buy a soundbar and attach it to the telly.

3 Live with it.

My LG does the same thing especially while watching movies. Can't hear when they talk in low voices have to turn up volume then music comes on and blares you out of the room so you turn it down. I have 300 dollar sound bar and it makes no difference. I just turn on closed captioning and keep the volume at a manageable level.
