Plug in your electric toothbrush instead ?
Question Author
Done that Old_Geezer my old trout uses it for that reason I have a wet shave so was wondering how you get to the fuse.
Have you checked the consumer unit to see if a fuse has tripped ?
If there's nothing obvious on the unit you may have to take it off the wall and check the back. Generally a small glass fuse if memory serves.
Isolate at the board before removing please.
It's surely have to be a fuse within the unit as it will be connected to the lighting circuit and any house mcb tripping quickly noticed. Do they even have internal fuses ?

Without opening it up and checking for a supply I'm unsure what else to suggest. By all means check the house mcbs but I suspect if nothing works from the socket there is either a loose wire or the unit has gone kaput.
Look on your consumer unit and if you don't have a 3 amp trip (fuse) then it must be as Douglas says and be fused behind the unit. If you are in any doubt about which circuit to switch off before removing the front plate then either switch off all electrics or get an elictrician.
I doubt if it has a fuse, Fish. Most likely the microswitch that operates when the plug is pushed in.

Transformers rarely give trouble. It's usually something mechanical.
Apologies fishing81

My plug in shaver adaptor seems to stop working occasionally, and it is because the copper contacts bend out of shape so the don't meet up with the plug.

You might have a similar problem.
