I think you place news paper over the wax and then iron it and the newspaper absorbs the molten wax, just be careful not to burn the carpet!

Not tried this, Chip....but I have used the ice cubes in a bag to freeze the wax.....your choice....☺

^^ Good advice but before you do that , get as much off as possible by freezing it with ice cubes,this makes it hard and easier to scrape /pick off.

My mum always used brown paper and an iron though good idea to scrape as much off as possible beforehand.
