I have blood tests done every month because of the medication I'm on, (Methotrexate) and for the last 3 months my Hb has been 112.
As I've been very tired of late I wondered if it's because of this? Thanks for any replies. x

According to Drugs.com, tiredness and weakness is one of the less common side-effects of Methotrexate

You have missed out a decimal point.

11.2 I would imagine.

no, that level would not be described as anemia and no that isn't likely to make you feel tired.
Been thinking! praps a touch low, but still not low enough to make you feel tired....in my opinion.

There is no decimal point in my results book, it just says
Hb Male 130-175g/l Female 115-165g/l.
Sorry, can't help and must pass.
Slaney is back with us (albeit with flu) but she is a better opinion on these matters than I am.

Ok Sqad.
Bit thick today.

Hb 112 is per litre, but HB is usually shown as per decilitre.

So, 112 gms/litre is 11.2 gms/dlitre.

So my comments above still stand....a bit low, but not enough to make you tired.

Have you had your vitamin D level checked? I've had low levels which have made me feel really crappy.

Could it be related to your underlying condition which you take the methotrexate for? It made me feel very nauseous initially and I had bad heartburn and horrible shooting pains when I was on it but had to come off due to liver issues with it. Can't remember feeling more tired but I am usually really tired with RA and other conditions anyway.

Thanks for your answers. Perhaps it is the Methotrexate, and perhaps due to the fact I've just come off Prednisolone?I don't remember feeling this tired when I was on the steroids.
Eve I'm due to have my Vitamin D and Calcium levels checked very soon before I have a Denosumab injection for Osteoporosis, so will wait to see what that brings.x
Barsel, it might be worth asking for your B12 level to be tested as a deficiency can cause similar symptoms, and I think methotrexate is one of the drugs which can cause malabsorption. Just a thought...
