MalwareBytes AntiMalware will remove it.
Get it from here:
https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/
When installing, be sure to uncheck the option to install the trial version of the premium product.

Malwarebytes will help, although whenever I've had 'home page hijacking' problems I've been able to change my browser settings to get rid of the problem. Sometimes you need to change it in a few places including the one that shows the pages that open on opening the browser
In Chrome I think it was in the Manage Search Engines bit
Go to tools (top right) on the down menu - general - home page, delete what is written there and enter http://www.goole.co.uk

Then click on OK and Google will return

thanks everyone. So when i download that, do i run a scan?
^^sorry; that should read 'google' of course;

Have you tried the two suggestions about your browser settings too?
Once you've downloaded Malwarebytes, you need to install it and run it. Update it's database and then run a 'Threat Scan'

Malwaretips goes a bit overboard on it's approach to removing Hao123, but I would do steps 4, 5, and 6. Restart your pc and run another scan with Malwarebytes free.

Tried everything you all said, and its still on there. I will now do another scan with malware thingy and see if it picks it up second time round. x
Try running the Malwarebytes scan with your pc in 'safe mode'.

Have you really done what I suggested; Tools (top right) on the down menu - general - home page, delete what is written there and enter http://www.google.co.uk

Then click on OK ?
Question Author
Khandro, yes i have and it has changed to google as homepage, but when i get onto internet it still shows hao123. I cannot understand why when i have done all runs and changes.
Question Author
I deleted it and replaced it with google and pressed ok. Then when i restarted laptop and went into google chrome, the page showing is still hao123
phleb; When you have entered http://www.google.co.uk in 'Homepage' in the General tab are you sure that 'start with homepage' is checked before you press OK ?
If you are still having trouble with the homepage after following Khandro's advice, there is some additional useful info you could try on how to remove Halo123 here:-
