My new TV has built in Freeview.. I usually watch on SKY, but would like to be able to use Freeview if necessary. How do I access it. I have gone through the AV button and tried tuning in, but no channels are detected. I have a rooftop aerial which is connected to my tv. Any help would be appreciated.

Just guessing but does the TV menu screen have a "source" option ? Or maybe it is on the TV remote ? The TV should use a different source for processing it's internal Freeview channels than it would for any auxiliary SKY cable plugged in the back.
on our tv remote....not the sky one....there is a a button marked 'input'....when this is pressed with just the tv on we are then given a choice....eg av av1 hdmi....we just scroll to the 'antenna' and bob's your uncle....freeview

hope this helps
As the guys have said above, plus might be a DTV button on remote but hitting input should take you to sub menu with antenna or freeview/dtv on it.
Should tune automatically or give option for manual tuning too.
On our TV remote we press 'AV' then change the mode from Satelitte box to TV mode. There are pictures to help.

Thanks for your replies, all quite similar. I have pressed the AV button on the TV (not SKY ) control. I scroll down to tv, retune and it takes a while, and then decides " no channels found ". It may be my aerial at fault.
Have you got a second TV that you can use to test the aerial signal?

As a simple check also look to make sure your aerial is pointing the same way as all your neighbours' aerials.
