I have seen photos of large tvs on the wall with no cables showing. I can see how this is done - the cables are chased in to the wall.

How do they hide all the cables for the sky box, dvd player, xbox and everything else connected to the tv?

I often think about this. I hate wires!!

Sometimes I think they must have put a false wall in and all the wires are behind it so you can get to them is something goes kaput.

I'd love to hide all the cables, it's a big spaghetti mess.
And when you go to sleep all the wires play fight and get in a tangle...

:D
ours all go inside a thin strip along the skirting board
TV shop did the installation
Thankfully the cobwebs are covering the cables here...

Thin strip? Can't imagine all my gubbins going in a thin strip.

I've got cobwebs, too
All my excess tv cables are in one of these

I know what hc means, where do they go after the skirting board , if the wall is clear?

I've got 11 occupied plug sockets behind my tv, plus aeriel cable. I'm in despair.
I had a new window in a few weeks ago alongside my computer desk - I asked the fitters if they could wait till I left the room to move the desk , I sloped off and cried quietly till all was back in situ.
I hid mine by chipping away about 50mm of plaster/brick, about 5 inch wide. I then put a piece of plasterboard over the hole and re plastered over the board.
I can now put new cables through any time I wish.

Well worth doing.

What about the cables connecting everything to the tv? Have you sunk those in to the wall as well?
Obviously this channel went from behind the telly (coming out of one of the gaps in the TV bracket) down to my skybox and sound system.
Yes, hc (and my speaker wires too)

Impressive
mine were a right mess so i invested 99p on a packet of 25 velcro ties from home bargains last week, they're still not hidden but they're all neatly coiled and taped behind the tv unit.
At the bottom(near skybox) the wires come out of this, hc.
