I'm "in charge" during my daughter's holiday, but I'm failing to get her washing machine to start! Can anyone tell me the secret please?

I don't know if it's the same model-year as ours but rotate the knob to select the temperature, touch (not press) the start button and Bob's your uncle.
Are you sure the water is turned on? Some people turn the water supply to the machine off when they've finished with it.
