...things were getting better, *BAM* they just get worse.
I had a terrible night last night regarding my medication and the nurse dispensing (or should I say not dispensing). Well after speaking to the doctor this morning he reassured me that it wouldn't happen again.
Roll on 22:05 this evening, the same nurse walks into the room. She then tells me that they need to order the Haloperidol as they don't have any and then gives me oromorph.
To start with I don't have oral morphine because it isn't potent enough, I have subcutaneous morphine. She then said that I could have Cyclizine or Ondanzetron instead of Haloperidol. If she had actually checked my drugs sheet I can't have either.
So yet again I was sat on my bed balling my eyes out. It's going to be a long painful night.

There should be a duty nursing officer of some sort on nights...someone in charge of all the nurses on at night....is there any way you can contact them and explain what seems to be happening all too regularly.
I know you probaly don't feel much like doing anything other than howl at the moment, but try to stick up for yourself.

I said to her, "just out of interest, what do I do if I'm still in pain in a little whilst?', she replied " You won't be". 'Yes but if I am, is there anything you can give me?', "No".
So at least when I'm curled over honking up blood I can be sure to do it on my own without having to bother her Ladyship.

Are you able to leave? Are they just giving you meds or are they actually doing something to solve the source of your pain?
You would think that they would have ordered the Haloperidol. If it completely leaves your system it could take ages to get you back to your version of normal.

Just when you thought....things were getting better BAM they just got worse. Tell me about it. Three months ago when my Mum`s Oncologist told her that her breast cancer that had spread to her bones was stable, we have been told today that it is now in her pleura. *** happens, I`m afraid. Hope you feel better soon.
