Lost a pet, and I would like to know if there is any way at all that I could print some wording off on the computer, and somehow apply it to this smooth stone.

What was your pet Ferlew. I lost mine about 4 weeks ago.
I can only think of a cold chisel, depending on the type of stone.
Only guessing but I think you are needing a special printer that could print out some kind of transfer, which if it exists would be some kind of professional job. You could scour the Yellow Pages. Or buy an indelible marker pen and hand write whatever you have in mind.
You could use a stencil with the pen.

Thanks OG
If you use a pen, you could varnish the stone to protect the writing from the elements.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

I just feel I have seen a way of transferring printed matter, to a surface.
Could have been tee shirt, I am sure there is a method somewhere out there.
Lay print onto surface, and paint with something, then rub off paper.
