does anyone know what his fellow athletes thought about him or think about him? preferably before the very sad death of reeva steenkamp. has anyone met him or seen him being interviewed about his running?

No idea, but the South African Olympic Association has distanced themselves from him today, apparently.

I always got the impression he was not so popular with fellow athletes because of his arrogance...just my take on it though !

On television news this evening there was already talk of 'redemption'. A few months in comfort in prison somehow doesn't punishment enough for taking a young life.
