Sandy, things are much more appreciated when they are delivered in person. Place the rucksack on your back; affix a few stamps and address label onto your forehead; and just stand next to a Royal Mail box.
Find a small business and send it Fedex through them, sandy. 2 - 20kg is far, far cheaper than the Snail Mail. We were paying 5-75 on parcels - and it would be more secure.
Use CollectPlus
It operates from corner shops, just £4.49 for you rucksack and it is tracked and insured. You could just stick the CollectPlus label straight on to it. I sent a walking frame to Cornwall that way.
I’ve broke my staff,
Buried it certain fathoms in the earth,
And deeper than did ever plummet sound
I’ll drown my book. Brierley's guide book to the Camino.
I'm doing no more travelling. But if I was I'd somehow squeeze myself into the rucksack and have it delivered to somewhere like Goa where I could enjoy a pleasanter winter climate.
I use Collectplus a lot and never had a problem. The nearest store to me is just 50 yards away. If you enter your post code on the home page 'find a store' it tells you your nearest stores. I even sent a complete car spare wheel and tyre by CollectPlus they take anything up to 10Kg.
