Hi, trying to view a video I received the message "the adobe flash player or an HTML5 browser is required for video feedback. I have tried and tried again to instal adobe flash player but without any success. Even when I download the latest googlechrome it advises me it does not have the flash player. So what is HTML5 and can I get that instead? (previously asked under the title of Adobe Flash Player). Any help will be much appreciated, kind regards, Jonty.

Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) is the script used to create websites, with HTML5 being the latest version of it. (Note for pedants: HTML6 is actually now available but not yet widely in use, so I'm ignoring it here).

Of course it's not much use designing a new version of the language that web browsers read to display websites if those browsers don't actually understand that language. So it's important to use the latest version of a web browser if you want to ensure that it's 'HTML5 compliant'. I can't get on with Chrome (so I know little about how well it handles HTML5) but, as I indicated in my previous post, Firefox scores well in HTML5 compliance tests:

HI Buenchico, again many thanks for your input. I now have Firefox, but still no joy. Any ideas how I can access a flash player from Firefox? Kind regards, Jonty.
You could give Lightspark a try. It works with many, but not all, websites that usually require Adobe Flash Player:

Hi, thanks again buenchico. I have tried to download and install this item, again without success. I am asked with what programme do want to use to open file. Apparently I have a choice of internet explorer, adobe reader, microsoft word for windows, notepad, windows live movie maker, windows media centre, windows photo viewer, aol software, new player, paint, windows live photo gallery, windows media player and wordpad. Any ideas, kind regards, Jonty.
Saw a similar query on another forum and this was his solution.
Fixed it !!!!
Found the fix
go here : http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Then chose to install for a difference system -> from there chose your windows and choose other browser (even if you don't have other browsers).
After restart system and voila !
All fixed !

Another fix suggested. You need to install the flash player for "other browsers". Chrome contains its own built-in version of flash and isn't usable by other applications.
