Samsung Galaxy S3

Suddenly today my Samsung S3 has started announcing my messages and emails arriving .... ie in a speaking voice "new message from blah blah"... driving me nuts!! How do I stop it? And how did it start happening???

Do you have it on driving mode? Go into your settings and check. I know this is available on my galaxy note and it will tell you anything that comes up (messages etc) so you don't have to look at it. I'll have a check to see exactly what to go into.

Found it. Go into settings then language and inpur then text to speech output. There should then be an option for driving mode - uncheck the box. I've got a galxy note so the headings may be slightly different but look for anything that mentions text to speech.
