King William, I should imagine, echo.
provided he doesn't kick the bucket before the Queen he will be our next King. Not actually sure he will be Charles 111, as often happens another name is adopted, but no matter, he will one day be king.
No reason why he should step aside.
Liz's Mum was almost 102 when she died, so it might be a while yet.
1 I expect so
2 Why would he?
3 No idea
It's possible if he didn't keep Charles, that George would be the next best thing.

Question Author
Sorry - realised question is not cleat - I meant, assuming Charles becomes King what name will he take ..... Charles III or will he be more likley to use another name George VII for example?? Or something else?
I think he has already indicated he would probably be King George he's gagging for the job no way would he stand aside but mummy might outlive him leaving the way open for William
George would be a safe bet
Why should it not be Charles 111. We've had George up to six, Edward up to 8, William up to ..............er, I've forgotten.
I think at some time he did indicate that he would take a different name.
Mad as march hairs, the lot of them.
>>>Why should it not be Charles 111
Because of the catholic association (both other Charles were catholic).
Also Charles 1 did fight for the monarchy against parliament, giving the "Charles" name a rather bad image.
I seem to remember it being said he will not be called King Charles.

Well with modern day thinking, and things like yesterday's handshake, perhaps it is time to break away from this historical claptrap.
Well he's got enough names to choose from. Charles Philip Arthur George, I believe. King Arthur would be good
If Charles isn't acceptable as a name for a king, her Madge should have thought of that when she named him.
no disrespect to the op..................... i couldnt care less ! he could be king chuck.
<<Mad as March Hairs>> marvellous! What about Mad as March Heirs?
Excellent - well done
Charles has indicated that he'll be George VII.
Not sure why people keep going on about the succession it's really very simple, the next in line becomes the monarch, there is no leap frogging.
She did think of it Hopkirk that's why he has about 10 names to choose from!
I love these monarchists who want the rightful heir by grace of God to step aside for a younger more popular one.
Such a difficult decision - Perhaps the nation should vote on it
