How long does it take for the passport office to send passport back to me?

Have you booked the holiday yet? If not, and there is still months left after the holiday on your passport. Put the name thats on the passport on your ticket and then once your back, you can change the passport name at your leisure!

Just make sure the name on your ticket and passport match, for API purposes, but due to the normal rush of passport applications over the summer period, I'd just leave until after your holiday. Then you've got all the time that the passport office need to change your details - and saves the stress of will your new passport arrive on time or not :)
