fixing caravan fridge

hi does anyone know how to remove the fridge from a caravan or know anything about fault finding as mine is not getting cold on any power source but i can hear it working on 240v i dont have fridge lectrics on car so no 12v and dont know how to try it on the gas how do you test the thermostats?

Get someone who understands electricity to bypass the thermostat. If the fridge is working it will run at full whack, and get very cold, if not start saving for a new fridge.

Good answer from FENDER62 but you should wait until the refrigerant settles down, about for 20 minutes.

This method also works for household fridges.

thankyou, I tried this last night and the ice box has got coldish but still not great, the thermostat is working and the pipe that is lagged at the back does get hot, but it is not hot where it goes into the cooling matrix, is that correct? am only trying it on 240v will it work better on another power source? not sure if gas will light as not tried it on gas for years
