Hope I understand your question ... are you saying you have a contract with The Carphone Warehouse, and you dont receive your upgrade for 13 months...
and your contract ties you to o2.

If so then Buy yourself a new phone and put your existing sim into it. The new phone will need to be on .. o2 .. unlocked or even a Tesco phone will work with your o2 sim.( Unlocked phones are also known as sim free phones. )
