Music magpie! How does it work? Is it a con?

I have loads of really old (bad taste in music) CDs, I downloaded the iPhone app for music magpie, and was amazed at how much they were willing to pay for some of the items (0.30 to £3.00 for some!) although this doesn't sound much trust me it's more than I should have paid in the first place! Is it a con though? Do they return most to you because of "quality" reasons, scratches etc! Mine aren't in bad condition but have been used, although they are also complete with inlays! Anyone used this company?

Yes,And you get next to nothing for CD's and DVD's,I ended up giving mine to Charity. You can see how much they offer by going to there Web Site and keying in Barcodes on your Items. I had the latest Jason Manford DVD still in Cellophane Wrapper and was offered £1.01.

I have used them. They have always paid up the agreed amount, even thoughsome of the the CD cases were a little scratched- typically you get around 50p each for them, but as Everhelpful says you can get their prices on their website.

There are no postage costs- you list your CDs, they give you a price, you accept and they send you a prepaid addressed jiffybag.

When I was on JSA a couple of years ago once bought 8 well known secondhand CDs from a charity stall for a total of £2 and then flogged them on MusicMagpie for £4. I felt a bit guilty afterwards.

why feel guilty? The charity shop got money, someone who couldn't be bothered to sell them got rid and you got £2 Win-win-win!
don't they melt them down anyway?
