flower stain out of carpet

My cat knocked over a vase of tiger lillies and the orange dye from the lillies stained my berber carpet. I've tried everything and can't get it out. Help!! andreaanker (Sun 23:15 24/Oct/04)

Have you tried a paste of oxygenated cleaner like Oxyclean? I've found that very helpful with organic stains. I would recommend the next time you pick lilies that you remove the pollen by cutting off those tips while still in the garden. Hope this helps, Newt

Carpet pride is pretty good on most stains, I used it to get oil off and it worked, give it a try, you can buy it from most supermarkets.

The stain is caused by very small pollen grains. Try massaging pure soap into the stain a few times and letting it sit. This will hopefuly coat each particle with soap. Then on rinsing with warm water may remove the stain. Good luck. A tip is to remove the stamen from the flowers as they open next time. Not as pritty but stopps any mess!

Lillies are poisonous to cats. You are lucky the carpet is the only thing that got hurt. Leave the stain as is as a reminder that no lillies should be anywhere near the reach of a cat - indoors or outdoors.
