We're moving house soon, about 20 miles down the road. Before now, when moving house I've hired a transit and done the work myself. I have too much heavy stuff to do this any longer. What should be a reasonable (ball-park) figure for a removal company to do the work for me. I have a small 3 bedroom house with no items larger than a sofa or a double bed?

Worth shopping it around. I got quotes for a similar job (NW England) ranging from just over 200 to about 1000. I thought about hiring a 7.5T truck but it was going to cost around 100 per day, so I have got someone doing the job for me for about 300.
I'll second the previous answer, just phone around different companies and you'll be met with vastly different quotes. I moved about a year ago, the company I used cost 350, supplied all boxes and packed the "difficult" things pc etc. It's maybe be better to go with a smaller "family" business than one of the big companies, as it's cheaper and the service friendlier.
I would be interested to know what company you used katiesara. We were thinking about moving ourselves, but I have looked into the cost of buying packing boxes and wonder if it is cheaper & easier to have a company do it?
