I know if radiators are cold at the top they need bleeding as theres air above the hot water. But some of my radiators are cold at the bottom while hot at the top although feed and return pipes attach to the bottom.... [more]

Why is it that when I start to use my steam iron a huge amount of dirt/sand comes through the steam vents. Could it have to do with the fact that our water is hard? What can I do to avoid this?
