What do you use to unblock your sink? Ive removed the u-bend pipe in my bathroom and got rid of the obvious blockages but there's still a lot of gunge. What is the best bleach or expanding cleaning foam unblockers to buy at the supermarket?

Baking soda and vinegar.
We use Mr Muscle, works a treat
Caustic soda - love the stuff
My bath water was going very slow this morning - put about 2 tablespoons down popped the plug in and had a bath - 20 mins later order is restored

Thanks ummm I have those in the house now. Is there a certain ratio?
Marval any particular mr muscle?
Rocor isn't caustic soda acid? Will that not eat through plastic pipes?
Caustic soda should be fine.

I don't know the amounts. Watched it on 'how clean is your house' the baking soda and vinegar react...

Guess work I'm afraid...but as both are very cheap you can afford a bit of trial and error.

Ill give that a go ummmm Im hoping your advice in not a gag and I wont experience a tsunami of foam coming out of my sinkhole engulfing the whole house! Maybe Ill video it just in case to put on youtube!
i'd try baking soda first, caustic soda is real strong gear it may corode through some of your seals depending on the type of connectors you've got, baking soda won't.
It won't burn your hands or put holes in your carpet either.

Thanks everton and all that answered. Will give the baking soda/vinegar combo for the moment.
I wonder if Sugar Soap would work it may even contain caustic soda.
Be assured - there's no caustic soda (sodium hydroxide) in sugar soap.
This is the best stuff you can get - don't bother with the supermarket things, they are useless compared to this:

It's over 90% sulphuric acid so be careful with it not to get it on clothes, towels etc. You can get it in hardware shops
