Freezer cold,Fridge warm

Hallo, I have a Spanish "Ibelsa" 6285 fridge/freezer that is same as Electrolux 9281925. The freezer is OK,little frost on side of compartment, but fridge below stays at 15 degrees centigrade, drainhole is not blocked. Is there a solution to try or does it mean a new one ?? Thanks for any advice .......Almendros

sounds like the 'settig control'thingy has gone AWOL,try local paper for a 'sparky' to take a look, how old is the machine? if new, have you a warrenty, or there are often cheap re cons.

Buenos dias! Not being familiar with your brand since I live in the U.S., I do find that most brands have a lot in common. One of the things most share is the device that shuttles cold air from the freezer side to the fridge side. In most units, there is only one compressor unit and that feeds only the freezer side. A fan moves the cold air to the fridge side through a device known here as an air diffuser (sometimes called a dampner). This is small, thermostatically controlled door or louvers that opens and closes to allow more or less cold air into the fridge side. Either the thermostat or the motor that drives the device can fail. Both are easily replaced, but you need to first determine if it has failed. Simply move the thermostat to a colder selection number and observe if the device opens or closes. (You may have to hold the interior light shut-off switch mounted in the door closed manually). If you can't tell (sometimes they're hard to see), you're repairman can easily test the circuitry... Lo mejor de la suerte!...

Hi Petal the fridge is over 5 years old and is not a very expensive one and changing setting control makes no difference to the fridge part.
Thank you Clanad for your very involved answer. I understand that the freezing part above (-20 cent.) is not getting to the lower part but there is nothing inside except the light box with the thermo control, no little shutters. I think will defrost the whole thing over 24 hours and look round the back to see if there is anything like that there.

You might find it is the thermostat that controls the temp in the fridge has gone t*ts up, my fridge did this about 3 weeks ago...
