Yep - good old fairy liquid is used by the window cleaners. also aparentley vinegar & newspaper to wipe the window brings it up sparkling!!
Good quality newspaper it must be the times or telegraph etc as the print does not come off like the tabloids.
we've just cleaned all the windows, inside and out, for the first time in 2 years, as our window cleaner stopped coming. i used to use windowlene spray, but have found the easiest and quickest way, with all the windows we've had to do, is either a bit of fairy or a bit of flash in a bucket of warm water, to wash them with a 'j' cloth. then a leather to dry them and shine them up. don't know why it's taken me so long to find out!! i would never, ever go back to the spray-on cleaner, too much like hard work.
Having cleaned windows in schools for some time we always used good old fairy,it has a mild degreaser which is good. A good blade is also handy to take away the water .
